INCENTIVE/FIT:

Thomas' specific canonpoint is somewhat interesting in light of his incentive, because he's taken from a point where he is just about to murder one of his best friends, due to deadly virus in his system that essentially makes zombies out of people, without the whole dead part. Because he's approached in this high intensity moment, Thomas' first wish would be directly to save Newt, the friend he's about to kill, instead of curing the entire world of this plague. Despite how he probably could have thought for a better wish to help more people, he still won't regret that he's saving Newt's life, first and foremost.

For his fit, Thomas is a fine and fairly mature character. Given that he takes the leadership role of a group of boys from ages 13 to 18, and his canon rests in a post apocalyptic setting, Thomas already acts twice his age, since his world basically tosses childhood out the window. Because of this, aging him up to 18, I feel, would have little to no effect on Thomas as a whole. In addition to this, the end of the series while Thomas is taken just before still hold light to their sexual activity -- the presumption at the end is that this group of kids will repopulate the scorched world with their superior genetics, and Thomas even gets a suggested girlfriend, which implies that he is capable and ready for physical intimacy.
